A little stitcher's folklore: a cold snap in early spring is still called a blackthorn winter, because it so often arrives just as the blackthorn bursts into flower.
Why this kit: based on original artwork by William Morris of Morris & Co., it is worked in cross stitch only and was released in the Bothy Threads Summer 2026 Collection.
Kit includes: 14-count cream Zweigart Aida, pre-sorted stranded cottons, a needle and a clear stitch diagram and instructions. Stitches used: cross stitch only. A frame is not included.
Start at the centre of the chart and work outwards in cross stitch, filling the deep background as you complete each motif.
